Postdoctoral Fellowship in NMR Spectroscopy and Imaging

Funded by the Promoting Academic Excellence in Universities (PAEU) Program of the National Science Council, one postdoctoral position in NMR spectroscopy and NMR micro-imaging is available immediately at this lab at the Department of Chemistry of the National Sun Yat-Sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, ROC. The initial duration for the fellowship is one year, but it may be renewable. The fellowship is about NT$700,000 per annum (taxable) plus medical insurance, injury insurance, unemployment insurance and other benefits. The postdoctoral research fellow is expected to conduct research in one or more of the following directions in NMR and micro-imaging: (a) liquid and solid state NMR pulse sequence design; (b) development of novel micro-imaging techniques; (c) data processing (spectra and images); (d) protein structure and dynamics; (e) biomacromolecules -ligand interactions studied with liquid and/or solid state NMR. The persons with background in FORTRAN (or C++), MATLAB, MATHEMATICA programming skills, electronics and NMR protein structural determination are most welcome to apply. The applicant should submit a copy of her/his diploma(s), curriculum vitae, a publication list, a brief statement of research interests and a proposal. At least two letters of reference from senior scientists in NMR or MRI area should be sent separately by the referees. All application materials should be addressed to: Dr. Shangwu Ding, NMR Postdoctoral Fellowship, Department of Chemistry, National Sun Yat-Sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan 804, ROC; or e-mail to ding@faculty.nsysu.edu.tw.
